Motors built in 2025 and onward have an easy-to-swap tiller arm. Changing the tiller on older motors can be a DIY operation too, but it is not the easiest thing to do. This swap is done at our factory and it also comes with a complete systems-check. A longer tiller arm is a benefit to those with hard shell dinghies where the transom is in the very stern of the boat. For inflatable and RIB owners, a shorter tiller accommodates the more foreword positioned transom.
If you are local and can drop off and pick up your motor, there are no shipping charges. If you need to ship the motor to us for this service, it is less expensive to ship when you remove the lower unit and ship just the motor head to our corporate address. When the conversion is complete, we will ship it back to you and let you know the shipping charges.
